The Phil Campbell Bobcats are looking almost unstoppable coming out of March. The Bobcats won five out of six games during spring break and have won 14 of their past 15 games to close out the month.

The Bobcats have improved their record to 19-5 on the season.

Phil Campbell rolled off spring break victories over Childersburg (11-5), Morristown-Hamblen West (9-8), Lexington (14-0) and Central-Florence twice (14-3; 6-1). The Bobcats’ only loss during the break was to Hewitt-Trussville (1-9).

In the Morristown game, the Bobcats had to come from behind late to get the win.

Phil Campbell trailed 7-4 going into the seventh and final inning before tying the game with a three-run bottom half of the seventh, sending the game into extra innings. Morristown took a one-run lead in the eighth, but the Bobcats won the game in the bottom half of the inning when Luke Barnwell doubled in Brett Saint to tie the game, and Barnwell came around to score on an error by Morristown.

Barnwell had two hits, including the double, an RBI and three runs. Raper and Owens also scored two runs. Austen Baker had two RBIs.

Cole Motes, Barnwell and Levi Crittenden all went to the mound for the Bobcats, with Crittenden getting the win.

In the Lexington game, the Bobcats scored eight runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, defeating the Golden Bears 14-0. Luke Barnwell had another big game, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scoring three runs. Mason Swinney went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs. Ty Leindecker had two hits and an RBI and scored two runs. Trey Leindecker had two hits and two RBIs and scored a run. Rilan Garrison had three hits and two RBIs. Garrison, Barnwell and both Leindecker brothers had doubles in the game.
