Tilmon David “T.D.” Baker

Tilmon David “T.D.” Baker, age 87, of Phil Campbell, passed away March 11 at his residence.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. March 12 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. March 13 at New Hope Methodist Church, with the body lying in state one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Bro. Richard Riley and Bro. Delmar Duboise. Burial will be at East Franklin Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary (Motes) Baker; brothers, Rufus Baker and Malcom Baker; and sisters, Lucille Sims and Delphia Adams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 68 years, Barbara Jolene Baker; children, Kathy Thomas (husband, Jerry), Mala Thompson (husband, Pete), Sherry Hutcheson (husband, Toby), Tillman Baker Jr. (wife, Diane) and Rodney Baker (wife, Christina); grandchildren, Craig Thomas (Amy), LeeAnn Moore (Joseph), Tommy Rogers (Sara), Alyssa Hutcheson, Daniel Thompson, Riley Baker (Debra), Luke Baker, Elizabeth McClellan, Tilmon Baker, Neyland Baker and Savannah Warren (Bobby); great-grandchildren, Talon Rogers, Siddalee Rogers, Peyton Thomas, Katie Thomas, Gage Moore, Sydney Moore, Shaily Warren and Brailey Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Craig Thomas, Joseph Moore, Tommy Rogers, Riley Baker, Luke Baker, Daniel Thompson, Tilmon Baker and Neyland Baker. The honorary pallbearers will be Gage Moore, Talon Rogers and Peyton Thomas.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and everyone who has supported us with visits and prayers during T.D.’s long illness.
