Vina students accomplish food drive

It’s the season of giving, and at Vina, students joined together to organize a food drive and give back to the families in their community.

Vina’s Junior Civitan members and Future Business Leaders of America members came together the week after Halloween and organized a food drive with the goal of feeding 10 local families, according to Junior Civitan sponsor Simon Mak.

“The food drive was a community service project that was discussed with our principal and sponsors of the clubs,” Mak said.

Students achieved their goal and collected enough supplies to create 10 boxes that will go to 10 families in the community.

“Starting and completing this goal was a worthy achievement. With that in mind, we can use this accomplishment to continue and build our outreach efforts in and around the community,” Mak said.

Items were donated by students, faculty, staff, Piggly Wiggly and Big Star of Red Bay.
