RES students create winning posters
The top three winners of the poster contest are Maria Gonzalez, Madi Willis and Bentley Kimbrough.
Fourth-grade poster winners are Madi Willis, Ansley Willis and Jacquelin Rodriguez.
The fifth-graders who had the top three posters are Maria Gonzalez, Lilliana Figueroa and Citlali Mojica.
Third-graders who created the top three posters are Bentley Kimbrough, Heidi Jacobo and Natalia Gaspar.
This year the poster theme was “Look. Listen. Learn.” Students were taught the importance of looking for places where a fire could start, listening for the sound of a smoke alarm and learning two ways out of every room.
All Russellville Elementary School students in the third, fourth and fifth grades were eligible to submit a poster in the contest, which was judged Nov. 5.
Overall winners were Maria Gonzalez in first, Madi Willis in second and Bentley Kimbrough in third.
Third-grade winners were Bentley Kimbrough in first, Heidi Jacobo in second and Natalia Gaspar in third.

Nov. 19 there will be a recognition of the poster contest winners at the Russellville City Council meeting at 6 p.m.
