RES students create winning posters
This year the poster theme was “Look. Listen. Learn.” Students were taught the importance of looking for places where a fire could start, listening for the sound of a smoke alarm and learning two ways out of every room.
All Russellville Elementary School students in the third, fourth and fifth grades were eligible to submit a poster in the contest, which was judged Nov. 5.
Overall winners were Maria Gonzalez in first, Madi Willis in second and Bentley Kimbrough in third.
Third-grade winners were Bentley Kimbrough in first, Heidi Jacobo in second and Natalia Gaspar in third.
Fourth-grade winners were Madi Willis in first, Ansley Willis in second and Jacquelin Rodriguez in third.
Fifth-grade winners were Maria Gonzalez in first, Lilliana Figueroa in second and Citlali Mojica in third.
Nov. 19 there will be a recognition of the poster contest winners at the Russellville City Council meeting at 6 p.m.
