Zombies return to RPL

Oct. 20 the Russellville Public Library is hosting its annual Zombie Walk for all ages to enjoy. It starts at 10 a.m. and ends after the zombie walk and dance party at 6 p.m.

“We have people every year who end up not being able to make it for some reason or another, so we’re hoping that they’ll take advantage of the chance this year,” library director Ashley Cummins said.

Brittany Smith will be doing zombie makeup again, starting at 10 a.m. Story time will start at 11 a.m. At noon there will be a “how to walk like a zombie” lesson. Zombie karaoke will begin at 1 p.m., followed by zombie trivia at 2 p.m. The brain eating contest will start at 3 p.m., and the costume contest is at 4 p.m.

Last call for the zombie walk registration is at 5 p.m., and the lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. The zombie walk officially begins at 6 p.m. and is followed by an all-ages dance party in the library.

Zombie movies will be playing all day. “We have an extensive zombie movie collection, so we’ll see what people want to watch,” Cummins said.

Local businesses have agreed to offer discounts and specials for the day so the community can see what Russellville has to offer. There will also be door prizes, which include haunted house and pumpkin patch tickets.
