RMS volleyball teams take first at tourney

The Russellville Middle School eighth grade and RMS seventh grade volleyball teams both won first place in the Russellville Invitational Volleyball Tournament this past weekend.

RMS eighth grade went undefeated throughout the day. The team defeated Haleyville and Wilson in pool play and advanced as first seed in the tournament to play Haleyville in the semi-finals, where they won and advanced to the championship game against Wilson.

RMS eighth grade went on to win the championship in the third set.

The RMS seventh grade team had a slow start to the day. RMS fell to Haleyville in the first game but came back strong to defeat Florence in the second pool play game.

Seventh grade then clinched wins over Deshler and Haleyville in tournament play to advance to the championship. RMS seventh grade dug deep and pulled out a win in the championship over Wilson.
