Beast Feast returns for third year

Sept. 15 is the date set for the third annual Beast Feast by H.U.N.T Outdoors Ministry at Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the feast will begin at 5:30 p.m. T.W. Norman will begin speaking at 7 p.m., followed by the awarding of door prizes.

“Last year went really well, and we’re anticipating the same for this year,” committee member David Evett said.

Evett said about 500 people attended last year.

The food will consist largely of wild game like deer and turkey, as well as other options for those who don’t like wild game.

“There are a few of us in the ministry who supply the game. We start planning months ahead,” Evett said.

Norman has been the speaker for the past two years, and Evett said he always delivers a good message.

“He does it for the right reasons. He gives his testimony and does a great job,” Evett said.

Norman lives in Harrisburg, Ill., where he is the lead pastor of Little Chapel Church. He is married to Tina, and together they have three boys. He has a love for all things outdoors, but the pursuit of growing and chasing mature whitetails is the fire that fuels his passion for hunting and working hard to capture all of his memories on camera. Norman is also on staff with Final Descent Outdoors.

After Norman speaks, the H.U.N.T. committee members will give out the door prizes, with a total value of more than $5,000 to be given away.

“Some of the prizes are donated, but we also work all year to raise money,” Evett said.

Evett said God has blessed and supported this ministry, and members are giving Him all the glory.
