Russellville vet’s dance video gets rave reviews

In a sea of dance challenge videos online, all set to the Drake song “In My Feelings,” a few have stood out and become viral sensations. One video from Franklin County has reached past the state’s borders and is rising in fame.

Russellville Animal Clinic veterinarian Dr. Kevin Marecle and staff made an in-office video that has people “aw-ing” over the cuteness.

At the beginning of August, the clinic posted the dance video on its Facebook page. The local community quickly responded and started sharing the video, which features Marecle himself doing the dance while two other clinic workers, Miranda Bradford and Norma Presley, are also in view helping with the two starring puppies, Stormie and Sampson.

“I haven’t been here very long,” Marecle said. “I wanted to get my name out there to the community. That was kind of the idea behind it.”

He said he was actually challenged by a friend to do it and thought that it would be a good idea. What makes the video stand out, according to Marecle, is the inclusion of the puppies.

What might surprise fans of the video is that this was actually the practice run and not the final version they made.

“They were a lot looser and had more fun with it because they knew it was just a practice,” Marecle said – leading him to share the rehearsal video instead of the final cut.

While Marecle said he was hoping to get good feedback from the video, he didn’t expect it to get as popular as it has become. The video has reached 2.1 million views with 8.3 thousand comments and 26 thousand shares on Facebook.

“The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive,” he said.

The video is about 30 seconds long and ends with a boxer puppy kiss that has people swooning. It can be found on the Russellville Animal Clinic Facebook page under “‘In My Feelings’ with a veterinary twist!”
