Agencies plan blood drives

Wimberley said she gives three or four times a year, motivated by the ongoing need, particularly in times of natural disasters like those recently in Texas and Florida. “It makes you feel blessed you haven’t had (a disaster) in your area,” she said. “It’s better to be on the giving end.”

Agencies plan blood drives

With the constant need for an ample blood supply to cover both routine and emergency needs, LifeSouth and Red Cross will host the following blood drives in Franklin County in August:

LifeSouth:

  • 13, 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Big Star, 314 S. Jackson Ave., Russellville
  • 18, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Watermelon Festival, 103 N. Jackson Ave., Russellville
  • 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Russellville Hospital, 15155 Highway 43, Russellville
  • 24, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Big Star, 406 4th St. SW, Red Bay

Red Cross:

  • 3, 1-6 p.m. at Walmart Supercenter, 13675 Highway 43
