Marine police to offer free boating class
For those who are seeking nautical adventures this summer but don’t have the boating license or knowledge to pull it off, a free boating course will be offered in Franklin County that can help remedy that problem.
July 28 there will be a free boating license course held at the Belgreen High School gymnasium, starting at 8:30 a.m. Participants will learn boating safety, the laws of the waterway, basic water navigation and water safety.
Organizers recommend attendees come casually dressed. Participants should bring a Social Security card and photo I.D.
The course will end with a test. If participants pass the course, they will be able to receive their vessel licenses.
