Vina makes plans for July Fest
Vina’s 28th annual July Fest is set for July 28.
This all-day event includes a car show starting at 10 a.m. and live music from noon to 9 p.m. Chuck Clark will kick off the entertainment, followed by Addie Mauldin at 1 p.m. Jerry Martin Free State Band will play from 1:45-2:30 p.m. At 2:45 p.m., Jarod Massey will perform. Cody Bass will perform at 3:30 p.m., and the J.J. Scott Band will take the stage at 4:30 p.m.
A brief break will take place for popular Draw Down, but at 7 p.m., Chris Williams will finish up the entertainment before the fireworks show.
“We all work together to put on this event. We’re a nonprofit organization that volunteers for the community,” explained Denise Rogers, one of the event organizers.
The Vina Fire Department hosts the car show, and the Draw Down is hosted by the Rescue Squad.
The Draw Down will start at 5:30 p.m., with the prize options being a 4-wheeler package, a vehicle or $17,000. Tickets are $100 apiece.
There will be food vendors at the festival, as well as a barbecue and bean dinner in the fellowship hall of Vina Baptist Church.
“We have stuff for the young and old to enjoy,” Rogers said.
Seating will be provided, but Rogers said people are also welcome to bring their own.
Rogers said registration is closed for food vendors, but other vendor spots are still open. Vendors must be set up by 10 a.m. that day. Spots are 12-by-12 feet and are $20 to reserve.
