King pleads guilty to burglary

Seven months after James Earl King, 48, was taken into custody by the Russellville Police Department for a series of thefts, King pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary third degree, according to Frankli County district attorney Joey Rushing.

King was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Shortly after his sentencing June 18, King reached out with a message to the citizens of Franklin County.

“I, James Earl King, want to apologize to all of the victims that I have harmed. God bless you all, and I’m truly sorry,” he said.

King was arrested Nov. 17, 2017, after he broke into and stole items from 17 mini storage units at two different storage facilities in Russellville. At the time, investigators were able to locate some of the items that King had stolen, but he confessed to having sold most of the items already.

“He did cooperate with investigators with trying to find the stolen property,” Rushing said.

Along with his 15-year sentence, King will also pay restitution for the items he stole.
