Mallie Sue Willis Burnham

Mallie Sue Willis Burnham – Sue, Mom, Memmie – of Trussville passed away May 7. She was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Russellville to Milton James Willis and Mallie McDowell Willis.

She was 85 years of age. Sue attended UNA and there met her husband and best friend Billy Joe Burnham. They would have been married 66 years as of Sept. 7, 2018.

Sue was retired from Mt. Brook Board of Education as director of the Child Nutrition Program. Sue attended Huffman United Methodist Church and was a member of the best and most caring, Loyalty Sunday School Class.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Milton and Henry Willis, and sister, Hazel Willis. Sue is survived by her husband “Burnham,” mom to son Monte (Dawn), daughter Michele Alfano (John), Memmie to grandchildren Ashley York (Cory), Chase Burnham (Erin), William Joseph Alfano and Mallie Claire Alfano and great-grandchild, Ethan York.

There is also little dog “Oliver” that will miss her. Also, four nephews and one niece, Neal Willis, Ed Willis, Michael Willis, Ronald Willis, Pan Vannaken and

God Child, Jaclyn Ham Dutton.

A visitation will be held May 9 from 11 a.m. to noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. The funeral service will begin from the funeral home chapel at noon. Entombment will immediately follow at the Abbey Mausoleum at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Huffman United Methodist Church flower fund.
