Peggy W. Smith

Peggy W. Smith, age 76, of Columbia, Tenn., passed away Feb. 23 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Peggy was born June 23, 1941, to Milton C. Willis and Ruby Robinson Willis in Russellville. Peggy married Jimmy Smith in July 1957. Peggy and her husband Jim moved to Columbia in 1958.

Peggy was a member of the Russellville High School Marching Band, where she was a majorette. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She worked as a secretary for several companies, including Pearl Vision from 1983-1988. She was a longtime homemaker.

The family will receive friends Feb. 26 from noon until 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tenn. A private graveside service at Polk Memorial Gardens will follow.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Smith; children Sandra Kim Norwood, Marye Lynne Smith, Diane Smith (Todd) Mabry, Alison Smith Riley and Jamie (Lisa) Smith; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Ruby Willis, and her beloved brother John Walter Willis.
