Tharptown girls post two blowout wins

The Tharptown Wildcats had a relative easy week last week, blowing past the Cherokee Indians and the Hackleburg Panthers.

The Wildcats jumped out to big leads in both games, beginning with the Cherokee game, in which they led 14-2 at the end of the first quarter. Tharptown extended the lead to 32-8 by halftime and cruised to the easy win.

Brooke Daily and Adrianna Borden led Tharptown with 14 points and 12 points respectively. Linda Bahena and Ameliah Dawson finished with eight points each. Shaylee Wieting added six points and Aly Vandiver four points, and Catie Dawson and Anslee Bottoms contributed two points each.

Tharptown 41, Hackleburg 18

Tharptown blanked the Panthers in the first quarter and held them to just three points in the first half in their second easy win of the week.

The Lady Wildcats led the Panthers 10-0 at the end of the first quarter and extended their lead to 20-3 by halftime, paving the way for the easy victory.
