Hi folks,

Some of our most-read stories, and the ones that people have commented most about, are the stories about memories from days gone by.

A huge storehouse of pictures that I have displayed bring back so many of the events and stories that I share with readers in Homefolks U.S.A.

One such picture shows a baptism taking place in Cedar Creek in the community of Rockwood. The preachers in this picture are Mr. Gertrude Richard and a Mr. Henry McDowell. More than 25 people are in the water waiting to be baptized, and the creek bank is lined with people to observe this special occasion in the lives of those who are being immersed in water – to name just a few, Mrs. Opal Grissom and her husband Dewey, Mr. Nummie Brown and Mr. Yancy Graham.

This picture brings back a lot of memories.

Another picture shows the old Russellville Coca Cola Bottling Plant, and in the picture Mr. Hardy is posing with several of the people who work at the plant. This building is still standing, and it would be easy for everyone to recognize it.

A picture of the Rockwood basketball team is on display, and the complete team is all smiles. Mr. George Bingham is shown in this picture.

During the Korean War, three people from Russellville met up in that part of the world and had their picture taken. I am very proud of this picture, and it certainly brings back a lot of memories for everyone who has observed it. The three men in this picture are Mr. Wyatt Phillips, Mr. Charles James and Mr. Fletcher Scott.

I also have a large picture of Mr. Luther Hubbard’s obituary. It tells of his birth, death and the place where Mr. Luther is buried.

Several people of the classes of Rockwood School are on display. Some of the teachers were Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. Hargett and Mr. S.M. Creel. One picture shows the principal of Rockwood School, Mr. Alvie Richardson.

Another picture: In addition to being a great shoe repairman, Mr. Jack Bowen did a lot of singing and playing the guitar with his band. The fiddle player is Mr. Smith (I have been told). They all look like they were having a great time entertaining the folks who loved country music.
