Lamar County and Red Bay were scoreless through the first quarter of play. Lamar County broke the deadlock with an 80-yard run for a touchdown in the second quarter to give them a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs scored again with 2:22 remaining in the half on a two-yard run to increase their lead to 14-0.

The Bulldogs scored on a 36-yard run midway through the third quarter to increase their lead to 21-6.
Red Bay scored early in the fourth quarter on a 66-yard run by Max Bullen to pull the Tigers to 21-12. Red Bay, however, would not be able to threaten the Bulldogs again.

Meanwhile, in the northwestern tip of the state, the Tharptown Wildcats fell to the Waterloo Cougars 35-3. Waterloo scored 35 unanswered points on the arm of quarterback Bryce Palmer.
