Ruby Lee Hines

Ruby Lee Hines, age 79, Russellville, passed away Aug. 26 at ECM Hospital.

Ruby was a devout Christian and faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother.  She was “Mama” and “Mamaw” to everyone, always being a friend to all she met.  She loved working in her flowers and being outside. She was always hospitable, ready to invite you into her home to sit, have something to eat or drink and just visit and talk. She will be missed by all who knew her and was loved by everyone.

The visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following in the chapel at 2 p.m. Officiating was Bro. Roger Jones. Burial was at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Brenda Hines and Linda Hines Prince; grandson, Jonathan Prince; great-granddaughters, Kaleigh Henson and Caitlin Eldridge; parents, William and Selma Walker; sister, Betty Brackin; and brother, Johnny Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 63 years, James Odie Hines; children, James Hines and Patty Jackson and husband Sidney; Harold Hines and wife Valerie; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Alton Manley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers were Chris Patrick, Shawn Watson, Terry Green, Jerry Green, Eric Hines and Justin Hines.
