Betty Mae Pounders Grissom

Betty Mae Pounders Grissom, 86, Spruce Pine, passed away Aug. 26. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Quinn Memorial Church of Christ, where she worshipped for more than 60 years.

Visitation will be Aug. 29 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from noon until 2 p.m., with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. in  the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Grissom Cemetery, Spruce Pine. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Vinson, Tyler Vinson, Michael Vinson, Johnny Grissom, John Daniel Grissom and Dwight Gilbert. Honorary bearers will be men from Quinn Memorial Church of Christ.

Survivors include son, Ronnie Lee Grissom, Spruce Pine; son-in-law, George E Vinson Jr.; grandchildren, Jana A. Voyles, Diana L. Vinson, Johnny Grissom, Jeffrey E. Vinson, Michael G. Vinson and Tonya Crowden; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Grissom; parents, F.H. and Emma

Pounders; daughter, Judith Ann Vinson; and sister, Marcell Bingham.
