Clovis Hubbert Fowler

Clovis Hubbert Fowler, 82, passed away peacefully Aug. 15 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Private graveside services were held Aug. 16 at Halltown Cemetery. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery, Vina.
Clovis was born in Hodges Oct. 10, 1934. After serving in the U.S. Army as a specialist in Top Marksmanship, he married Imogene Fowler (Vanderpool) Nov. 24, 1962. He worked at Franklin Electric Cooperative and retired after 38 years.
His life is one defined by love, work and a deep faith and trust in God. He had a love for all things that grow, whether they were his children or vegetables in his garden. He is remembered as a tireless worker who believed in giving his all every day, a man serious about his trade but never slow to share a laugh. In retirement, Clovis could often be found tending his garden or resting in his gazebo, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, smoking his pipe. He was always the most peaceful and happiest in the summertime with his family all around.
Clovis will be lovingly remembered by his wife – Imogene Fowler, Red Bay; four children – Jon Arnold, Jenny King, Laura Manning and Hannah Jackson and husband, Rhett Jackson; eight grandchildren – Katie Benefield, Andrew Fowler Thigpen, Sarah Thigpen, Jon Christian Thigpen, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Samuel Fowler Moore, Jean-Marie Moore and Nathaniel Clovis Moore; two great-grandchildren – Aidan and Ethan Benefield; and four sisters – Marie Fowler, Polly Zumbado, Chesteen Ellenburg and Mary Nell Henson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jewel and Arrie Fowler, and a brother, Hollis Fowler.
Pallbearers were Andrew Thigpen, Rhett Jackson, Frankie Fowler, Jeff Fowler, Rick Fowler and Frank Fowler.
