James “Jim” Weeks

James “Jim” Weeks, 99 years old, of Phil Campbell, passed away Aug. 18.

Visitation will be Aug. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Union Hill Methodist Church. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Darrel Rambo, Bro. Corey Cochran and Bro. Chance Steen.

Jim was a member of Union Hill Methodist Church.

Mr. Weeks was born Sept. 25, 1917, in Phil Campbell, to Joe and Zue Weeks. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Winnie K. Weeks; children Louise Slagle and husband Robert and Alline Brandon and husband Roland; his siblings Earl Weeks and wife Maggie, Johnny Weeks and Mary Frances Weeks; and his son-in-law Henry Wimberley.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his daughters Elouise Wimberley and Jean Herman and husband Karl; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Martin Walker, Jimmy Wimberley, Larry Wimberley, Ryan Weeks, Steve Brandon and Roland Brandon. Honorary pallbearer will be Joey Wimberley.

A special thanks to Mitchell Hollingsworth Rehabilitation, Unity Hospice, friends and neighbors for their help and food.
