Terry Lee Daniel
Terry Lee Daniel, 70, passed away June 21 at his home. He was born May 23, 1947, in Vina to Otho Durant and Aberdeen Smelser Daniel. He was a Christian and a retired farmer. He was a chemical worker for Cherokee Nitrogen, where he worked for 38.5 years. He was a member of United Steel Workers Association and served as president of the United Steel Workers Union in Cherokee.
Services were June 24 at 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Glen Bridgmon officiating and speakers Billy Bolton and Barry Daniel. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years – Brenda Coker Daniel, Red Bay; one son – Barry Daniel and wife Niki, Killen; one daughter – Amanda Ridge, Red Bay; his four grandchildren who were his pride and joy – Carson and Carter Daniel, Killen, and Dalton and Dixie Ridge, Red Bay; one sister – Sharon Joan Aday and husband Russell, Killen; one brother – Marcus Daniel and wife Rita, Red Bay; mother-in-law – Julia Coker, Belmont, Miss.; sister-in-law – Anita Childers and husband Keith, Florence; nieces and nephews – Michael Aday, Brad Childers, Kirk Childers, Katy McGee, Julia Daniel, Emily Daniel and Lora Childers; his aunt – Celestine Durham and husband Harchel, Alexandria; his uncle – Fay Parrish, Dennis, Miss.; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, L.C. Coker.
Pallbearers were Jon Petree, Doug Liles, Jimmy Mitchell, Michael Aday, Tony Armstrong and Ralph Winchester. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Cox, Bobby Joe Williams, Aulsie Bolton and Harold Strickland.
Visitation was June 24, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org in his memory.
