John Edward Porter

John Edward Porter, 70, passed away June 21 at his residence. He was born in Franklin County and worked in furniture manufacturing. He attended New Temple Church.
Services will be June 27 at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Donnie Wooten officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Golden, Miss.
Survivors are his wife – Susie Porter, Golden, Miss.; five children – Sandie Wright and husband Eddie, Dora Porter and husband Adam, Tina Porter, Andy Porter and Peggy Porter; 14 grandchildren – Donna Porter, Christine Porter, Scotty Porter, Crystal Wright, William Boyd, Jamie Boyd, Janet Boyd, Nathan Crum, Felicity “Cami” Porter, Carlie Porter, Sadie Porter, Katie Beam, Kayla Crum and Lyra Jane Roberson; two great-grandchildren – Taylor Elizabeth Biggerstaff and Matthew Wyatt Collins; three brothers – L.C. Porter, R.D. Porter and Arlis Porter; and two sisters – Mageline Ewing and Maxine Porter Grissom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Dora Porter; three sisters, Gereline Johnson, Arvie Jean Johnson and Pauline Porter; one brother, J.B. Porter; and former son-in-law, Johnny Welch.
Pallbearers will be Landon Cromeans, Scotty Wooten, Larry Rutland, Bobby Brown, James Spencer, Shane McDonald, Adam Porter and Ellis Cromeans.
Visitation will be June 26, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
