Clara Holden Williams Nelson

Clara Holden Williams Nelson, age 99, of Russellville, passed away June 21 at Russellville Healthcare.

Mrs. Nelson worked hard all of her life. She was a refuge, a shelter and a constant source of love to her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 23 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. Trae Durden will officiate the service. Burial will be at Jonesboro Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Nelson; daughter, Linda Hamilton; great-grandson, Justin Clement; parents, Clifton and Mary (Pace) Holden; eight siblings, Sherman Holden and wife Dina, C.E. Holden, William Holden and wife Ann, Wallace Holden and wife Hazel, Lenora McCarley and husband Arnie, Gladys Dyas and husband Al, Lucy McNatt and husband Neal, and Jean McNatt and husband George.

She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Stanley Clement, Doug Clement and wife Lisa and Tina Todd and husband Joey; great-grandchildren, Brandie Dunstan and husband Paul, Jerrod Keplinger and wife Karen, Bonnie Bendall and husband T.J., Britney Brush and husband Chris and Jake Todd; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Marty McNatt, Ray Brooks, Tony McNatt, Scott Holden, Kevin Holden, Joey Mitchell and honorary pallbearer Joe Glasgow.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of PCU at ECM Hospital; Russellville Healthcare; and Hospice of North Alabama for your love and kindness in taking care of our grandmother.
