Wilma H. “Grammie” Ashley
Wilma H. “Grammie” Ashley, 62, passed away June 2 at her residence. She was born in Franklin County, was a deli manager at Piggly Wiggly in Red Bay, for 20 years and a was member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Services were held June 4 at 3 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Matthew Haney and Gerald Collum officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Johnny Ashley; one son, Glendon Ashley and wife Ronda; five grandchildren, Chyenne Ashley, Duane Hughes, Glen Ashley, Tre Ashley and Johnny Ashley II; one great-grandchild, Chyley Watson; and one sister, Shirley Lindley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dora Haney; three sisters, Wanda Haney, Sue Kuykendall and Dolly Robinson; and one brother, Donnie Haney.
Pallbearers were Michael Haney, Jonathan Haney, Rodney Kuykendall, Benny Kuykendall, Brady Kuykendall and Robbie Hall.
Visitation was held June 3 at 6 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church.
