Arvie E. Upton
Arvie E. Upton, 86, passed away May 30 at Helen Keller Hospital. He was born in Franklin County to Hosea and Della Lindley Upton. He worked at Tiffin Motor Homes and was a member of Old Burleson Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 15 years.
Funeral services were June 1 at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Walter Bennett and Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Burial was in Old Burleson Cemetery, Vina.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marie Upton of Vina; two sons, Louis Upton and wife Margie and Keith Upton, both of Vina; four grandchildren, Thomas Upton, Kevin Upton and Lesa Lambert, all of Vina, and Brian Upton of Red Bay; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Travis Upton, Percy Upton, Jessie Upton and Hosea C. Upton; and three sisters, Vera Lehman, Francis Howard and Bessie Upton.
Pallbearers were Chris Lambert, Andrew Upton, Alton Barksdale, Mark Bailey, Ron Gomez and Kevin Upton.
Visitation was May 31, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
