Bailey Motes will get a chance to continue his basketball career. The senior point guard for the Russellville Golden Tigers inked a scholarship with Huntington College Tuesday.
Motes averaged 20 points, six rebounds and three assists per game in his lone season at Russellville.
“We are proud that Bailey has earned the opportunity to play at the next level,” said Golden Tiger hoops coach Patrick Odom. “He has worked so hard for a long time to reach the dream of playing college basketball. It has been a blessing to have him as a part of our program, and we wish him the best at Huntington.”
“It feels great. It was a tough decision,” Motes said about signing with Huntingdon College. “I want to play right away. I feel like I have an opportunity to go in and do what I’m supposed to do and work, and I’ll have a chance to start and play right away.”
Motes played his sophomore and junior seasons at Tharptown High School before transferring to Russellville. “It’s been a great year. I couldn’t ask for it to have been any better,” Motes said.
