Red Bay’s Kaleb Burroughs to play college baseball

Blue Mountain College is no stranger to Red Bay baseball talent. After signing 2016 graduate Colby Knoblock last year and 2017 senior Chandler Allen in February, another Tiger signed to join the BMC Toppers in that all-important signing ceremony this month.

Red Bay’s Kaleb Burroughs said he looks forward to joining his teammates at the college level. He will play for BMC eighth year head coach Curt Fowler.

“I didn’t want to go to a bigger college. I don’t like being around a bunch of people,” Burroughs commented. “With them being a Christian college, that was a big part of it too.”

Burroughs, who played second and third for the Red Bay Tigers, said BMC drew his attention after Knoblock spoke highly of his own experience there. The drive to play college ball started the conversation between Burroughs and BMC.

“It’s something I’ve always dreamed of since I was really little,” Burroughs said.

Burroughs is the son of Mandy and Jamie Purser.
