Thursday crash claims one life

A single-vehicle crash at 6:50 a.m. Thursday claimed the life of a Russellville man.

Matthew Christopher Lynch, 19, was killed when the Nissan pickup he was driving struck a guardrail and overturned. Lynch, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Alabama state troopers.

According to authorities, the crash occurred on Highway 24, five miles west of Russellville.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
