Phil Campbell, Belgreen softball fall at regionals

The Phil Campbell Bobcats and Belgreen Bulldogs were both eliminated from regional softball play last week. Phil Campbell defeated Cold Springs (6-5) in the Bobcats’ first game of the 2A regionals, but the Bobcats then lost back-to-back games against Ider (15-3) and Fyffe (12-2).
In the 6-5 win over Cold Springs, the Bobcats had several players with big games. Katie Thomas went 4-for-4 with two RBIs (Thomas also went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the loss against Fyffe). Leeah Jackson went 2-for-4 and scored two runs. Jade Roberson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Chloe Roberson went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
In the 1A regionals, Belgreen lost to Skyline (11-8); picked up a win in the loser’s bracket against Shoals Christian (15-6); but then lost to Waterloo (13-1).
