Marvalene Lewey Hardin

Marvalene Lewey Hardin, 79, passed away to her heavenly home April 30 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield.

She was born in Franklin County and was a member of Old Burleson Baptist Church. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and an excellent cook.

Services will be May 3 at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Walt Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Old Burleson Cemetery, Vina.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Archie Hardin, Vina; two daughters, Cynthia Gober and husband Larry Creekmore, Red Bay, and Loretta Hovater and husband Tracy, Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Adara Cromeans and husband Kevin, Muscle Shoals, Lakota Hovater and Brady Hovater, Tuscumbia; one brother, Villious Lewey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Lewey; a brother, Jerry Lewey; and two sisters, Ernestine Gandy and Shirley Scott.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Cromeans, Tim Fowler, T.J. Fowler, Steven Scott, Mike Mitchell, Darrin Lewey and Thomas Upton.

Visitation will be May 2 from 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Helen Keller Hospital Fourth Floor, Keller Hospice and Dr. Aaron Karr.
