Playoffs: Golden Tigers advance

The Russellville Golden Tigers swept Arab in a couple of road games Friday night to advance to the third round of the Class 5A baseball playoffs.

Russellville (32-9) took game one by a 13-2 score and routed the Knights in game two, 13-3, in front of a large crowd. In the four playoff game victories so far this season for RHS, the Golden Tigers have outscored their opponents by a combined run total of 44-8.

Cody Greenhill got the start on the mound in game one and picked up the win. Judd Ward hit a first inning, two-run home run.

Chad Wray and Rudy Fernandez both pitched in game two, with Wray getting the start and the win.

Russellville will host Etowah in round three starting May 5.
