Velma Ruth Kimbrough
Velma Ruth Kimbrough, age 90 of Tuscumbia, passed away April 24 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Visitation will be April 26 from 6-9 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home Russellville. Funeral service will be April 27 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Bro. James McCullar, Bro. Eddie Wix and Bro. Chris Green officiating. Burial will be in Crooked Oak Cemetery.
Velma Ruth was a member of Crooked Oak Baptist Church, and she served as a charter member of Crooked Oak Cemetery Committee.
Velma was the store owner of Kimbrough Grocery at Crooked Oak for 56 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Lucy Dill Lindsey; her husband, Henry Nelson Kimbrough; daughter Estell Vandiver; and brothers Arnold Lindsey and Noland Lindsey.
Velma Ruth is survived by her sons Aubrey Kimbrough and wife Martha and James Kimbrough (Jim); her daughter Charlene Terry; grandchildren Linda Terry, Jana Temple, Joshua Kimbrough, Jace Kimbrough, Kimberly Vandiver and Jade Bragwell; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Newton, Allen Newton, Fred Reeves, James W. Lindsey, James H. Lindsey and Kenneth Lindsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Love and Robert Newton.
