Hodges man dies in Friday car accident

A single-vehicle crash around midnight April 14 has claimed the life of a Hodges man.

According a report from Alabama state troopers, Jeremy Christopher Tolbert, 30, was seriously injured in an incident that took place on Interstate 22, five miles west of Hamilton, at 12:05 a.m. Friday. Tolbert was injured when the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta he was driving left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

He was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he passed away at 12:45 a.m., according to authorities.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
