Murley H. Mayhall

Murley H. Mayhall, 87, passed away March 27 at her residence. She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Franklin County, and was a factory worker for 50 years. She loved church and gospel music and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Services were held March 31 at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, with Bro. Rex Riddle officiating. Burial was in Butler Cemetery, Golden, Miss.

She is survived by one son, Elvie Mayhall and wife Peggy; two daughters, Linda Ewing and Martha Chesnutt; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers-in-law, Charles Mayhall and wife Catherine, Elvis Mayhall and wife Dorothy and Vuin Beam.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray “Pete” Mayhall; her parents, James Andrew Hammock and Bertha Jane Barton Hammock; one great-grandson; five brothers; five sisters; and two sons-in-law.

Pallbearers were Bobby Cleveland, Roy Cleveland, Keith Mayhall, Johnny Beam, Robert Beam and Ed Hammock.

Visitation began at 6 p.m. March 30 at Antioch Baptist Church and continued until service time on Friday.
