Carol Diane Smith
Carol Diane Smith, 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away March 8 at her home.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Franklin County and had lived in Colbert County most of her life. She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper for Muscle Shoals Aviation and was of the Baptist faith.
Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be March 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be March 11 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel in Russellville. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville, Alabama. Officiating will be Chip Martin.
Pallbearers will be John Aycock, John David Aycock, Caleb Gilley, Tyler Long, Keith Moore and Michael Moore. Dan Long, Thomas Long and Jimmy Martin will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, William R. Smith, and children, Bill Smith and wife Ann and daughter Jill Keller. Survivors also include grandchildren Haley Keller Gilley and husband Caleb and Hannah Keller. A great-grandson, Carson Gilley, also survives her. Three sisters, Glenda Long and husband Dan, Brenda Long and husband Thomas and Peggy Martin and husband Jimmy, survive her, as do numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Billy F. and Lillian Aycock, and a brother, David Aycock.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Aaron Karr and Melinda Smith, the hospice nurse.
