RHS boys to continue to Area tournament

The Russellville Golden Tigers defeated the Lawrence County Red Devils, 55-42, Wednesday night to advance to the championship game of the boys Class 5A Area 14 tournament.

Avery Sears led Russellville in scoring with 17 points. Adonnis Bailey added 14 points for the Golden Tigers.

Russellville will take on the West Point Warriors Friday night at 7 p.m. at West Point in the championship game.  The winner will play at home next week in the sub-regional game, while the loser will travel.

The Warriors defeated the Golden Tigers, 69-62, in early December and 55-51 in their last meeting, which was in January.
