Cordelia Jane Worthey Guyton

Cordelia Jane Worthey Guyton, 74, passed away on Sunday, Sept 6, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Atwood to Coy and Virgie Worthey.  She was a lifetime resident of Hodges and married Truman Hansel Guyton on May 16, 1958. During her lifetime she visited many different countries, including West Germany, Holland, France and old Mexico.  She also lived in Alaska when it was a territory of the U.S.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and sewing

Services were Tuesday, Sept 8, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay with Bro. Walter Bennett officiating. Burial was in Pilot Hill Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are her husband, Truman Hansel Guyton of Hodges; a daughter, Janet Jaco and husband Herman of Hodges; one sister, Wilby Jean Smith of Belmont and three half-siblings; her grandchildren, Jeniece Winstead of Phil Campbell, Bethany Stewart of Moulton, James White of Hodges, Christina Howard of Anderson, James Guyton II of Zip City; her great-grandson and adopted son Wesley Guyton of Hodges; eleven other great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-James Allen Guyton I; three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be James White, Wesley Guyton, James Allen Guyton II, Waylon Winstead, Daniel Smith and Roger Lucas. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Goodway, John Shackelford and Herman Jaco.

Visitation was Monday, Sept 7, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, and until service time Tuesday.
