The city audit produced no issues, according to the audit presentation at Monday’s city council meeting.

“He said we’ve got a clean audit,” said Mayor David Grissom, who praised the department heads for staying in budget. The audit addressed city finances for fiscal year 2013-2014. “We’ve just been trying to work hard to stay within our budget.”

The council met in executive session for an hour to discuss the “good name, character and job performance” of a city employee. The employee, who was not named, was suspended five working days with no pay when the council returned to regular session.

The council also:

– approved resolutions to be presented to the Russellville High School Championship teams.

– declared the damaged fence at Hal Kirby Park surplus and authorized the mayor to sell.

– approved a nuisance abatement for a property at 125 Honey Lane.

– accepted resignations from the Russellville Police Department from Jeremy Burfield and John Fike.

– declared vacancies for a police patrolman and dispatcher and voted to advertise for a patrolman.

– approved a resolution with ALDOT for an ATRP project on Walnut Gate Road from Highway 43 to Highway 24.
