New polling place in Tharptown

At a special called meeting last Tuesday, the Franklin County Commission voted to change the polling place for Tharptown residents.

According to Probate Judge Barry Moore, all registered voters who previously voted at Tharptown School will now vote at Tharptown Baptist Church, located at 5140 Franklin 48, Russellville (in the Tharptown community).

Moore said the space at the school that was normally used as the polling place was now being used by the school, so church officials at Tharptown Baptist Church agreed their facilities could serve as a polling place.

The new polling place will go into effect for the November general election on Nov. 4.
