Man wanted for robbery

The Russellville Police Department is looking for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place Monday.

Cornell Lamar Phillips, 35, is wanted on the charge of first-degree robbery, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.

According to Hargett, Phillips is accused of using a handgun to rob an individual in the 500 block of Filmore Street in Russellville.

Phillips reportedly stole cash from the individual and fled the scene. His whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Police said it is possible the suspect could be in the Colbert or Lauderdale County areas.

Phillips is described as a 35-year-old African American male weighing 160 lbs. and standing 5’11” tall. He was last seen driving a 2014 white Ford Taurus with dark tinted windows.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call the Russellville Police Department at 256-332-2230 or the Shoals Area Crime Stoppers at 256-386-8685.
