Vina woman dies in crash

VINA – A Vina woman was killed Friday morning in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Franklin 23, officials said.

Brandi Nicole Locklear, 28, of Vina, died from injuries she sustained when her 2003 Nissan Maxima left the roadway on Franklin County 23 and struck a tree.

Officials with the Alabama State Troopers said Burleson appeared to be traveling north on Franklin 23 when the wreck occurred.

The wreck took place just two miles north of Vina in the Burleson community.

The incident was reported at 7:50 a.m.

Officials said Locklear was pronounced dead at the scene. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
