The Russellville Golden Tigers used their speed and quickness to overwhelm the Tharptown Wildcats in Monday night’s 91-69 victory.

The Golden Tigers jumped out to a commanding 51-24 first half lead in route to the win.

Tharptown staged a big comeback in the third quarter outscoring Russellville 28-16 and cutting the lead to 67-52.

The Wildcats cut the Golden Tigers lead to as little as eight points in the fourth quarter, but Russellville hit some opportune shots to seal the win late in the game.

Russellville had four players in double-figures. Chris Owens led all scorers with 22 points. He was followed by Reed Smith with 21 points, Tyler Willis with 11 points and Jalen Scott with 10 points.

Other scoring for Russellville were Colby Tompkins (7), Austin Stidham (7), Juwan White (4), Colton Hargett (2), and Adonnis Bailey (2).

Tharptown had three players in double-figures. The Wildcats were led by Kelby Hallmark with 16 points. Max Nolen added 13 points and Heath Hatton scored 11 points.

Others scoring for the Wildcats were Nathan Chaney (8), John Staggs (7), Drake Lawson (6), Riley Nolen (6), and Brady Petree (2).
