Earlier in November, event organizers announced popular Christian music artist Mark Schultz would be making a stop at the historic Roxy Theater on Dec. 20 as part of his “What Do You Give a King” Christmas tour.

Organizers have now confirmed a second popular Christian artist will be joining Schultz for the event, even though this artist won’t be singing any songs.

Southside Baptist Church and the Franklin County Times are joining together to present visual worship artist Brian Keith Daniel, who will take the stage at the Roxy and create one of his famed paintings using only his hands.

Daniel uses mixed media artwork that starts out as an abstract grouping of colors on a canvas and transforms the colors into a new and inspiring image all during the course of one song.

Trent Stephenson, who has been involved with the planning of the event, said the addition of Daniel to the Dec. 20 concert really put the event over the top.

“This was already going to be a phenomenal experience having a famous Christian artist like Mark Schultz coming to the city of Russellville, but having Brian Keith Daniel on board is going to make this event just out of this world,” Stephenson said.

“It’s not something you’re going to want to miss.”

Daniel has been an artist for many years but he began using his talents as a form of worship in April 2007 and has been touring across the country and even internationally ever since with artists such as Grammy and Tony Award winner Heather Headley, Dove Award winners Michael W. Smith, Mac Powell of Third Day, 33 Miles, Seth Condrey, Calling Levi, Beloved, Marc Ivey, Charles Billingsley, Newsong and many others.

Recently, Daniel completed a national tour with Men At The Cross along with Christian author best-sellers Max Lucado, Gary Smalley, Ted Cunnigham, Dr. Tony Evans, nationally known speakers Joe White, Rick Rigsby, comedian Brad Stine, MLB’s Andy Benes and NFL’s Kurt Warner.

“Both Mark Schultz and Brian Keith Daniel have made a name for themselves in the Christian community and it’s an honor to have them coming to Franklin County,” Stephenson said.

Stephenson added that the original artwork created by Daniel at the concert would be auctioned off in a silent auction with the proceeds going to benefit the Northwest-Shoals Community College’s Revive Student Ministries.

“Not only is this event going to be entertaining and a blessing for you and your family, but it will also help raise money for a good cause,” Stephenson said.

“We hope a lot of people will show up for this great event.”

Don’t miss the “What Do You Give a King” Christmas tour presented by The FIX 91.3, Southside Baptist Church in Russellville and the Franklin County Times, featuring Mark Schultz and Brian Keith Daniel.

The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. at the historic Roxy Theatre in downtown Russellville.

Tickets for the concert are now on sale at Stephenson Electric Service, The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, LifeWay Christian Bookstore in Florence and all branches of Alabama Central Credit Union. Tickets are $25, $20, and $15. Group rates are available.

Christmas and holiday greeting ads for local businesses will also be available for $25. These will be displayed on the theatre’s new projection screen before and after the performance. Proceeds from ad sales will benefit the Roxy’s new projector fund.

For more information about the holiday ads or for group ticket pricing, call 256-398-8359.
