PHIL CAMPBELL —  The Phil Campbell Bobcats put up 406 yard of total offense and 44 points on Homecoming night. The only problem was the Phillips Bears high-octane offense piled up 514 yards of total offense and 58 points in a dizzying offensive game.

The Bobcats didn’t have an answer for Phillips’ quarterback Rodney Camp, Jr.  Camp completed 20 of 29 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns and ran the ball for 219 yards and a touchdown. Phillips jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and never relinquished it.  The Bobcats cut the lead in half on a 51-yard touchdown run by Craig Saint with 2:54 to go in the first quarter.  Saint’s PAT made a 14-7 game.

After a Phillips score, Jacob Hamilton led his team down the field completing passes of 14 and 21 yards before connecting with Jamie Dorroh on a 5-yard touchdown pass with 3:53 to go in the half.  Saint’s PAT made it 20-14 Phillips.

The Bobcats stopped the Bears next drive on downs and took over at their own 23-yard line with less than thirty seconds remaining in the half.  A Phil Campbell pass was picked off by Austin Mitchell and returned to the Bobcat five-yard line.  One play later Camp added a final score with no time left on the clock to give Phillips a 28-14 halftime lead.

Phil Campbell’s Casey Galloway opened the second half with a 43-yard run from scrimmage to set up two-yard touchdown run three plays later.  The PAT by Clay Harris trimmed Phillips lead to 28-21.

Phillips added two scores late in the third quarter and early in the fourth to extend their lead to 44-21 before Hamilton found Galloway for a 51-yard touchdown pass midway through the fourth quarter.  The PAT pass from Triston Godsey to David Sparks trimmed the lead once again to 44-29.

After a 58-yard kickoff return for a touchdown run by the Bears, Jacob Hamilton hit David Sparks for a 32 yard touchdown pass.  The PAT by Harris made it 52-36 with 4:10 remaining in the game.

Another quick touchdown run by Camp gave the Bears a 58-36 lead lat in the game.

Phil Campbell added one more score on a five-yard touchdown run by Hamilton.  The PAT pass from Hamilton to Colton Vickery was the final scoring of a fast-paced fourth quarter.

Hamilton led Phil Campbell with three touchdown passes and 167 yards through the air.
