Betty Sue Warhurst Coan, 78, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Coan was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. She was a Christian. She was a devoted member of Tharptown Baptist Church for over 60 years, touching the lives of many children through Sunday School and VBS.

Her love for the Lord will live on through the many lives she has touched.

The funeral service was Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Tharptown Baptist Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Officiating was Eddie Wix, Jim Johnson, and Josh Miller.

Survivors include husband, Earl Coan; children, Doug Coan and wife, Lottie, Joey Coan and wife, Sandra, Donna King and husband, Jeff, and Rhonda Hand and husband, Benny; brother, Owen Warhurst and wife, Jennie; sister, Eulene Bradford; grandchildren, Heather King-Love, Wesley Coan, Heath King, Jeremy Hargett; great-grandchildren, Josh King, Madyson King, McKinna Love, John Baylor Coan, Ella Grace Hargett.

Pallbearers were Terry Hall, Jamie Kiel, Jody Kiel, O’Neil King, Mike Nichols, Earl Saint, Bo Goss and Dewayne Warhurst.

Honorary bearers were Deacons of Tharptown Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Jim and Annie Warhurst.
