Mildred Lane Wells, 89, Spruce Pine, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at her residence.

She lived her entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Isbell United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with Dr. Leroy Tidwell and Mrs. Martha Hauer officiating. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Wells, Spruce Pine; sisters, Louise Moland, Russellville, June Amos and husband, Bobby, Leighton, Barbara Amos and husband, Milton, Russellville; brothers, Clifton Lane, Hoyt Lane  and wife, Doris, Herman Lane and wife, Ann, all of Russellville; grandson, Joseph Wells, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were nephews, Greg Lane, Ronnie Lane, Lynn Lane, Mark Lane, Andy Lane, Jeff Amos, Steve Amos, Pat Lane and Joe Lane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Wells; sons, Edward Arthur Wells, Willard Dewayne Wells; daughter, Wilda Loraine Wells, and brothers, Howard Ray Lane and William Hardin Lane.

Special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama, Mid-South Home Health and special caregivers, Greg and Melinda Willis.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Building Fund at Isbell United Methodist Church or Hospice of North Alabama.
