Barbara “Bobbie” Lee Stone

June 15, 2011

Barbara “Bobbie” Lee Stone, 83, of Russellville passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Russellville Hospital.

Bobbie was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she attended until illness prevented her.

Her mother died when she was about 8 years old and she took on the responsibility of caring for her siblings while her daddy worked.  She made their clothes and prepared meals and she became a very skilled seamstress.  She and her brothers and sisters were always very close.

It was always a treat to go to her house for Thanksgiving and Christmas because you always got some of her famous dressing and giblet gravy.  She always fixed it for all the family reunions.

Bobbie always had a kind word for others and was so appreciative for anything that was done for her.  She only had one son, Toney, whom she loved more than life itself and she was broken hearted when he died.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Zack Isom officiating.  Interment was at Belgreen Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy West; grandchildren, Dusty West, April (O’Neal); great-grandchildren, Brittany West, Ashley West, Savannah Berryman, Emmalee Berryman, Caraline Berryman, Allyson Berryman; sister, Marveline Isom; brother, Ulon Palmer; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Warren West, E.W. Stone; son, Toney West; grandson, Shannon Paul West; sister, Jewell Palmer; and brothers, Jack Palmer, Ralph Palmer

The pallbearers were Jimmy Isom, Jimmy Thorton, Justin Thorton, Patrick Deaton, Kenny Jackson, and Chris Bryant.

She cherished visits from all who came by to visit and the things they did for her.  She loved visits and calls from all her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.  You were all special to her.

She had endured a lot of sickness lately and was blessed when God worked a miracle in her life when he brought her through a serious stroke.  She remained at home until her death because of the good care she received.  All our thanks go out to Brenda Hutchens and Brenda Williams who were her home care helpers.  Also much thanks to Dr. Harry Kuberg and the wonderful nurses on 1st floor at Russellville Hospital for the special care they gave Bobbie in her last few days.  God’s richest blessings on all of you.

God blessed her again when he carried her home to be with him and spared her from anymore suffering.
