‘Neighbors Helping Neighbors’ provides free admission, transportation for tornado victims

The “Neighbors Helping Neighbors Tornado Relief Concert” is on a mission to give those directly affected by the tornadoes a much-needed break.

Tornado victims in East Franklin, Phil Campbell and Hackleburg will receive free admission to this concert on Monday, June 13, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Russellville High School Stadium, and they will be provided with free transportation to and from the concert through buses supplied in each of the towns.

For Phil Campbell and East Franklin tornado victims, please call The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce at 256-332-1760 no later than today at 3 p.m. If you get the voicemail, leave a message and someone will get back to you.

For Hackleburg tornado victims, please call Clara Watts at 205-935-8715 no later than today at 3 p.m.

For others in the community wishing to support the tornado victims in the area by attending the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors Tornado Relief Concert,” advance tickets are $15 and can be purchased at local CB&S, First Metro or People’s Trust banks, or online at www.djohnsonproductions.com. Tickets are $20 the day of the show and can be purchased at the gate.

The concert will serve as the kick-off event to a long-term fundraising effort, providing financial assistance to those in need after the devastating tornado outbreak across North Alabama.

The music lineup will feature Ronnie McDowell, Travis Wammack and Marty Raybon along with local artists Kerry Gilbert and Joseph Baldwin.

Organizers of the event are encouraging individuals who are unable to attend the show to donate to the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors Relief Fund” at any CB&S, First Metro or People’s Trust bank branches.

Corporations are encouraged to purchase corporate tickets for clients, employees or associates. City, county and state representatives involved in the effort are also asking that donations to the fund continue into the future as long as funds are needed.
