Red Bay man indicted on sex charges
A Red Bay man accused of rape was formally indicted this month for his actions in December of 2009.
Shelby Dean Lindley, 65, 1413 9th St. West, Red Bay, was indicted on two counts of first-degree rape and one other sexually-related felony, Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said.
According to reports, Lindley is accused of a forcible rape that took place on Dec. 2.
After the complaint was filed by the female victim, officers with the Red Bay Police Department investigated the incident and arrested Lindley on Dec. 30.
Rushing said Lindley’s case could go to trial as early as August when it will be set on the August 15 criminal trial docket.
Lindley was released from custody in January 2010 on a $50,000 bond.
